Jumping Jack is the maker of a totally self contained travel trailer with the ability to haul your recreational vehicles. We at the ATV Connection first learned about the Jumping Jack trailer last year from a fellow journalist. Scott Olmsted, Editor-and-Chief of the NRA publication, American Hunter, Scott provided us with plenty of information about this versatile trailer he had encountered. Recently we arranged a meeting with Bill Badger one of the designers and owners of the Jumping Jack product line. Bill gave us a demonstration of the product, explaining the ease of use and the many personalities that the trailer possesses.

How it works:


   The Jumping Jack Trailer is quite similar to a pop-up camper but the big difference is its ability to carry two full size ATVs on top of the trailer. The design is quite simple Bill and his team have taken the utility based trailer design and expanded on the platform to come up with a unique way to transport recreational vehicles and a warm, dry housing unit.
The trailer its self is a metal framed unit with expanded steel though out its larger panels, this frame work is opened on top and supported even with the main portion of the trailer to create a pop-up based platform. Now from inside a heavy-rubber bag is unzipped to release a complete canvas tent that when set up is very similar to a modern day pop-up camper. The unit is set up in less than five minutes and comes with plenty of options, including an outside sink, water supply jug and rain-fly front. When you walk inside the set up camper you will notice two side beds with comfortable padded top mats and a warm rugged floor. The unit uses the tailgate as a step up to enter the inside, this also makes a great place to keep your boots and such off the ground.

Base Trailer:


    Don�t think that once you purchase the Jumping Jack Trailer you�ll be needing another utility trailer forhauling or doing work around the house. This trailer is easily converted into a purebred utility workhouse trailer. Just drop the tailgate, place the flat top portions in the up-right positions, slide the heavy-duty rubber tent bag out from inside the trailer and you�re ready to work. When you return just have a friend help you slide the tent bag back inside and you�re ready for the next trip. When you decide you�re ready to travel, Jumping Jack supplies a set of ramps to load you ATVs on top of the trailer for travel. These are an option but are long and make the job quite easy.


Bottom Line:


As journalist once in awhile we find a product that really catches our attention as with the Jumping Jack Trailers. First time I set eyes on the Jumping Jack, I wonder why didn�t I think of that? This product is the most interesting ATV travel trailer I�ve seen to date and the Jumping Jack trailer has won the 2004/2005 product of the year! We at the ATV Connection presented the award to Bill Badger at the 2005 Indy PowerSports show in February, this is a product that we would recommend to any powersports enthusiast.
