Bombardier Pro-Moto Helmet

Bombardier enters the Open-Face helmet market with 3 new helmets. A Pro Moto Helmet, matte black and two Moto Helmets available in Red or Yellow graphics.

We tested the Pro Moto helmet which is constructed of carbon fiber-reinforced fiberglass composite and meets Snell M2000 and DOT standards. The matte black finish is kind of rubbery to the feel and is very trick looking, even has a fin on the top back.  The dark black color gives it a stealth type look. This helmet will be a great helmet for winter time riding as it has several features not found on any other helmet we have tested.

On the bottom of the nose is a mesh panel that keeps wind and water or dirt for that matter from entering the face area. Also there is a removable panel that will protect the lower face area. It is a solid foam panel that Velcro’s in place and fits tightly against your face just below goggle level. On warmer days it can be removed, but in winter time it will really help keep you face warm. Another foam panel surrounds you neck area on the back that adds comfort and also more protection from the elements. The nose seams to be a little shorter than other helmets, this being good or bad depending on each individual. The shorter nose makes the helmet more compact and also helps keeping your face warmer in the colder months. On the other hand a longer nose would allow more air flow to help keep you cooler in the hotter summer months.

The multiple air vents, seven total, will help keep it cool, but we will probably keep this helmet for colder weather and use our white helmet for summer time. This is a great helmet for snowmobile riders and quad riders in the cooler months. When you think carbon fiber you think light and strong, however the Pro Moto helmet actually weighed in ¼ pound heavier than our other named brand helmet.     Overall we were impressed with the quality and extra benefits of BRP’s new helmet. It is very trick looking and we look forward to wearing it often, when it’s cool enough.
