Maxxis Plans Major Presence at Indy with new tires

With three new tires to introduce and an autograph table featuring some of motor sports’ best riders, Maxxis will have something for everyone at the 2008 Powersports Dealer Expo. The Indy Show, as it’s popularly known, will be held February 16-18 at the Indianapolis Convention Center & RCA Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Visitors who drop by booth 325 can get a look at the ‘Zilla, the new standard in ATV/utility tires. Lightweight and durable, this tire contains deep lugs to power through the deepest mud holes, while providing a smooth ride on open trails. With an aggressive tread pattern that offers outstanding traction for predictable climbing, cornering and braking, this tire is sure to spark major interest from industry pros.

Another cutting edge product to be featured is the Razr Blade, built for the hardcore dunes ATV rider. The front Blade provides consistent turning due to its center and outside tread design, with a rounded profile providing the float needed to stay on top of the sand. The Rear Blade’s V-paddle design creates the perfect combination of incredible acceleration and predictable sliding, offering cornering control unmatched by any other sand tire. The rear tire is build with alternating angled blades designed to be left or right-specific. Both front and rear are built with 2-ply construction, keeping weight to a minimum while still offering a durable tire for the dunes.

For motorcycle fans, Maxxis’ new Avenue touring tire is introduced to its street lineup. The Avenue has specially formulated and matched front and rear tread patterns, with a compound designed to excel in grip and mileage in dry and wet road conditions. Off-set tread grooves channel water away from the contact patch and resist tracking over highway rain grooves and steel-grated bridges. The Avenue also features a revolutionary new reflective Maxxis hot-patch for maximum visibility and safety, day or night.

As if all that weren’t enough, Maxxis will also highlight new Maxxcross sizes at the show. Many models are now available in OE four-stroke sizes: 110/80-19 and 120/80-19. Pro riders will be on hand throughout the event to chat with fans and sign autographs. Temecula Motorsports’ Mike Cafro, who’s ridden Maxxis to victory in numerous Baja races; utility ATV champ Mike Penland; eight-time GNCC champion Bill Ballance; and Team Babbitt’s Kelly Smith, Brock Sellards and Patrick Boyle will join models Elizabeth Ashley and Mandy Ashford to provide high-voltage star power at the booth.

Maxxis staff will also be giving away tons of great swag, including playing cards, beanies and new Maxxis bottle openers. Don’t miss the excitement: Be sure to visit booth 325 at the Indy Show.
