Not only does Suzuki offer the award-winning Vinson 4x4, but the company also provides the option of the LT-F500F manual five-speed Vinson in 2006. This version of the popular manual-shifting sport-utility Vinson is blessed with features and styling similar to the hugely popular automatic Vinson 4x4.
The manual Vinson is powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine tuned for higher torque output and quick acceleration. The motor features a plasma-spray cylinder coating for light weight and increased durability, a gear-driven balancer shaft for reduced vibration, and a Keihin 36mm carburetor for quick throttle response and optimum fuel efficiency. The five-speed manual transmission is equipped with an automatic clutch and two-speed sub-transmission, complete with automotive-style single-lever operation with forward, reverse and park settings. Compact torque-sensing limited-slip front differential, a 2WD/4WD electric push button controller, and "In-Gear" starting complete the new manual Vinson.
The five-speed Vinson 4x4 utilizes a rugged, large-diameter steel frame built for maximum strength and minimal weight. A double A-arm suspension setup resides up front along with five-position preloadadjustable shock absorbers that provide 7.1 inches of wheel travel and 9.8 inches of ground clearance. The swingarm-style rear suspension with single shock offers 7.9 inches of wheel travel for the lightweight, cast-aluminum wheels. Large 190mm disc brakes provide the stopping power at the front, and a single 216mm disc is fitted at the rear.
Lightweight skid plate and bumper guards are also mounted to provide maximum protection with minimal resistance over rocks and other obstacles. High-capacity racks with a new wrinkle finish and 5.0-gallon fuel tank provide maximum carrying capacity and long-range operation. Visually, the '06 manual Vinson continues the trend of past models with aggressively bold looks. Such styling is complemented by high-clearance fenders and vibrant color selections in black, green, red and camouflage.
Other features include bright fender-mounted multi-reflector headlights, large combination taillight/brake light and an additional 40W handlebar-mounted auxiliary light. A large T-shaped seat provides comfort and support, and a 325-watt charging system and a waterproof 12V/120W automotive-style electrical outlet mounted to the front fender come standard.
