undefinedWater Baby Sports located in San Diego, CA manufactures a custom portable sport utility water pump.

Two different sport pumps are available. The smaller one (the one we are testing) is the Water Baby 1135 which pumps 1.1 gpm @ 35psi and the larger one, the HD3540 unit which pumps 3.5 gpm @ 40psi.

The Water Baby 1135 package includes the Water baby pump, 8’ spray hose with nozzle, and a 4’ inlet hose with a stainless steel filter screen and nylon housing to prevent debris from getting into the pump. The kit also features a 2.5-gallon bladder, accessory bag, owner’s manual and a NiCad battery, which will pump 30 gallons on a single charge! Some optional accessories include a 12-volt adapter to run the pump from your car and a cooling mist system that can be set up around your camp to keep you cool on a hot day.

The pump housing is made of high-density polyethylene and the hoses are all commercial grade with steel clamps with quick connect connectors. The spray nozzle is lightweight and chemical resistant.

How handy is this pump? VERY handy! It has a wide variety ofundefined uses. We tested the Water Baby in the desert of Southern California. We brought a 15 gallon plastic barrel full of water and inserted the inlet hose in the barrel while the pump was hung from the handle on the barrel for easy access. After a long ride in the warm sun we would come back pretty hot and sweaty. Simple flicks of the switch on the Water Baby and you have instant water to cool you off or take a complete shower. We also found it useful for filling pans of water to boil, doing dishes, washing off sandy parts, and even washing an entire ATV!

undefinedBeing a completely portable pump (when the battery is used) and very small and lightweight when it’s in the accessory bag it has endless uses. Say your on a muddy trail and you stop for a break near a stream or lake, simply run the inlet hose into any water source and hose down your ATV, especially your radiator to keep your machine from over heating. It’s also handy at the beach. After a long day in the salt water you can use the water bladder filled with fresh water to hose yourself and any equipment like your surfboard or fishing poles free of corrosive salt water. The possibilities are endless!
